Auto Insurance

Bundle with home for the strongest savings. Multi-car, teen drivers, classic vehicles, all welcome.

If you drive in Plano, Allen, McKinney, Frisco, or anywhere across Collin County, you're required to carry auto insurance — but "meeting the requirement" and "actually being protected" are two very different things. I'm Baruch Clawson, an independent insurance advisor based in Plano, and I shop 30+ carriers to find the auto coverage that fits your household, your drivers, and your budget. No captive script, no pressure — just an honest look at whether you're really covered.

One agent, 30+ carriers, working for you

A captive agent can only sell you one company's auto policy at one company's price. I'm independent, which means when I quote your auto, I'm running it across 30-plus carriers at once and bringing back the ones that actually fit — the right coverage at the right price, not the only option someone's allowed to sell. And if you're already getting a genuinely good rate, I'll tell you to keep it. That's the whole point of working with someone who answers to you, not a carrier.

The Texas minimum is not enough

Texas law only requires 30/60/25 — $30,000 of injury coverage per person, $60,000 per accident, and $25,000 for property damage. That sounds like a lot until you're in a serious wreck. Modern vehicles routinely cost more than $25,000, and a single hospital stay can blow past $60,000 fast. If you cause an accident that exceeds your limits, the difference comes out of your pocket — and potentially your future wages.

Just as important: a large share of Texas drivers carry no insurance at all, or only that bare state minimum. That's why uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage matters so much here — it protects you and your family when the other driver can't. It's one of the first things I check on every policy, because it's one of the most commonly overlooked.

Texas weather doesn't just hit your roof

The same hailstorms that batter North Texas roofs total thousands of vehicles every year. Whether that damage is covered depends on your comprehensive coverage — and a lot of drivers who dropped "comp" to save a few dollars find out too late that hail, theft, and flood aren't covered under liability. If you're parking in the Plano corridor's hail alley, this is a coverage worth understanding before spring, not after.

Every household is different

Multi-car families, teen drivers, and classic or collector vehicles all change the math on auto insurance, and different carriers price each situation very differently. A carrier that's brutal on teen drivers might be excellent on a multi-car household; a company that shrugs at a classic car might overcharge a new commuter. Shopping 30+ carriers is how I find the one that happens to be generous with your exact situation instead of penalizing it.

Bundle your auto and home for the strongest savings

Most carriers reserve their best pricing for customers who bring both auto and home. Because I'm shopping the same 30+ carriers for both, I can find the combination that lands you the lowest total across the two — not the cheapest auto policy sitting next to an overpriced home one. If you own a home in the area, bundling is usually where the real savings live.

Let's make sure you're actually covered

Here's how simple this is. Pick whichever feels easiest:

— tell me a little about your vehicles and drivers and I'll shop it across my carriers and reach back out with real numbers. No spam, no obligation.

— grab a time and we'll walk through your coverage, no pressure to switch anything.

Or just call me — 214.315.2274. A real person in Plano, not a call center.

Ten minutes now can save you real money — and make sure that if the worst happens, you're protected instead of exposed.
